Randje per Week
Randje per Week is a spontaneous idea of Annelies van den Bergh and myself, which started in January 2014. All Borders, alphabets and motifs that we used for this over the years come from Annelies' collection of antique schoolgirls Samplers.
Booklets of 2014, 2015, 2018 and 2019 have been published by the Randjes, of which only 2019 is still available. The alphabets of 2016 and the Boxes of 2017 are also still available in book form.
A new book has recently been published containing the Randjes of 2021, but also all the Randjes of 2014-2021. These are sorted by height which makes it a great reference book.
Various types of linenband to embroider the Borders can be found HERE in the webshop.

Tona's Randjes book
De Randjes are inextricably linked to Soed Idee and continue to attract people! A while ago I bought three red school cloths from one maker “Tona Janse” from Hellevoetsluis. 2 patches are dated 1908 and 1909, the third is probably from 1910. It is clear that this concerns 3 years of craft education. The patches contain a lot of Edges (and a few alphabets and number series), which increase in difficulty. Some edges are familiar and others are completely new. I was able to combine them relatively easily into one whole “Tona's Edges” (coincidentally, my mother-in-law's name was also Tona and she was a fanatic embroiderer!)
Tona's Randjes are a complete pattern of both the complete version and the adapted version on tape, published in a beautiful book.
The book is in both Dutch and English.
Softcover, full color, A4 format, 20 pages.
Alle Randjes Verzameld 2014-2021
The latest bands were only published on the Facebook group “Randje per Week”… Until now!
After many requests Annelies and I have also published "Randje per Week 2021" in book form: "Alle Randjes Verzameld".
This book contains the full Randje pattern per Week 2021. But not just this pattern. The book contains ALL the bands from 2014 to now. That's over 400! A real must-have!
The book is a very complete reference work in which all bands are sorted by height, from 1 crosses high to 31 crosses high.
The book is softcover, A4 format and has 48 pages full of Bands inspiration.
Randjes 2019
After having organized “Randje per Week” for 5 years, Annelies van den Bergh (https://quiltsandsiggies.blogspot.nl) and Simone de Jong (www.soedidee.nl) thought it was enough…
A number of times they organized a “Sampler SAL” in 2019, a Stitch-A-Long from a sampler from the collection of Annelies. Again this collection expanded considerably during the year.
So in mid-2019 she told Simone that she had collected a whole lot of new bands… Something started tickling again with both ladies !
The result is this new booklet with 78 new bands, but also with different creative ideas using motifs and bands.
We hope you enjoy reading, admiring and embroidering these new bands.
Softcover, 32 pages, A4 format.
The book is in both Dutch and English!2017 Vakje per Week leaflet
Leaflet of "Vakje (box) per Week 2017", containing the complete pattern - in color - of all boxes, including the alternatives for the threaded boxes and a variant on linen binding. This is a reprint of the previously released booklet. It's in both Dutch and English.
Softcover, 8 pages, A4 format.
Details:
Each box is 29 crosses wide and 49 crosses high. We have put together a set of 8 squares next to each other and 6 rows of squares below each other. The whole is framed by a beautiful border and then becomes 283 crosses wide and 339 crosses high.
Dimensions 283W x 339H crosses:
28 count / 11 threads / 5.5 x/cm : 51 x 62 cm
32 count / 12.6 thread / 6.3 x/cm : 45 x 54 cm
36 count/ 14 threads / 7.1 x/cm : 40 x 48 cm
40 count/ 15.7 threads / 7.9 x/cm : 36 x 43 cm
The pattern is embroidered in two colors, but of course you can give it your own twist and make it in any color or number of colors you want. You can also adjust the layout of the boxes to your own liking or add boxes yourself. Annelies, for example, has embroidered 3 squares next to each other on a 20 cm wide linen band.
If you make the sampler as we offer it you will need:
Embroidery fabric of your choice (for example Zweigart Belfast Natural 12.6 threads), size 70 x 100 cm. This is spacious, but then you also have room for your own input.
Yarn: 12 skeins of the main color and 3 skeins of a second color DMC (eg DMC 815 and 930).
If you are going to work on embroidery tape, just like Annelies, you will need 2 meters of 20 cm wide tape.
2016 Randje per Week, Van schoollap naar merklap.
